Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

What happens during the free consultation?
During your free 30-minute discovery call, we will discuss your current financial situation, your short-term and long-term goals, and any concerns you have. This is a no-pressure conversation designed to help us understand if we are a good fit for each other. You will leave with actionable insights regardless of whether you decide to work with us.
Do I need a minimum amount of money to work with you?
No. We believe financial planning should be accessible to everyone. Our Foundation plan is designed specifically for people who are just starting to get organized. Whether you have $1,000 or $1,000,000, we can help you create a plan that makes sense for your situation.
How long does it take to create my financial plan?
Typically 2-4 weeks from your initial data-gathering meeting. This includes time for our team to thoroughly analyze your finances, model different scenarios, and prepare your personalized plan document. We will not rush the process -- your plan deserves careful thought and attention.

Services & Planning

What is fiduciary duty and why does it matter?
A fiduciary is legally required to act in your best interest, not their own. This means we will never recommend a product or strategy because it pays us a higher commission. Unlike many financial advisors who only need to meet a "suitability" standard, we hold ourselves to the highest level of care.
Do you manage investments directly?
Yes, for clients on our Growth and Wealth plans. We use a custodian to hold your assets securely while we manage the investment strategy, including asset allocation, rebalancing, and tax-loss harvesting. You maintain full access and visibility to your accounts at all times.
Can you help with business finances?
Absolutely. Our Wealth plan includes business owner support -- from separating business and personal finances to setting up retirement plans for you and your employees (SEP IRAs, SIMPLE IRAs, Solo 401(k)s), optimizing tax strategies, and planning exit strategies.

Fees & Billing

How are your fees structured?
We charge a flat monthly fee based on your plan tier. This is not a percentage of your assets, which means our fee stays the same regardless of market conditions. We believe this aligns our incentives with yours -- we focus on the quality of advice, not on accumulating more assets under management.
Do you earn commissions on products you recommend?
No. We are a fee-only advisory practice. We do not sell insurance products, annuities, or any other commissioned financial products. If we recommend insurance, we will refer you to a trusted independent agent. Our only compensation comes from the advisory fee you pay us directly.
What if I want to cancel?
After the initial 3-month period, you can cancel at any time with 30 days notice. We will provide you with all your plan documents and a transition guide. Your investments remain yours, and we will ensure a smooth handoff if you choose to work with another advisor.

Working Together

How often will we meet?
Meeting frequency depends on your plan: Foundation includes semi-annual meetings, Growth includes quarterly meetings, and Wealth includes monthly meetings. Of course, you can always schedule additional meetings when major life events occur, such as a job change, home purchase, or new baby.
Can I meet with you virtually?
Absolutely. Many of our clients prefer virtual meetings via Zoom or phone. We serve clients nationwide and have designed our entire process to work seamlessly whether you are meeting in person or remotely.
Is my financial information secure?
Yes, we take data security very seriously. All client data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We use bank-grade security protocols, two-factor authentication, and secure document sharing platforms. We never share your information with third parties without your explicit consent.
